It’s back! The Academy Awards, the Oscars. And for many of us (me included!), the biggest red carpet event of the year. The gowns, the jewels, the handbags, the nails, the hair, the makeup. The trends. The disasters!
While we get ready at home for a fun family gathering and maybe a theme dinner (ham anyone? Golden Statue cake?), what kind of frenzy is going on in Hollywood!
This lead-up to the Oscars is filled with parties and fittings, last minute workout sessions, serious skin moisturizing (the heavy lifting has already been done). In some cases, there are down-to-the-wire dress freak outs, crazy stuff that happens throwing stylists into coronary melt down. And swag suites galore. Major jewelry companies, handbags, shoes and more take over elegant Los Angeles hotels, promoting their brand of bling to the stars and their bffs. Fingers crossed that a big star will mention them to Ryan Seacrest on Sunday night.

So while we are getting ready to see if Billy Crystal still has it, endless acceptance speeches that make us yawn, the excitement of the big wins and losses, and a chance to see Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at their most gorgeous, I personally am hoping for some serious fashion that will inspire, entertain, and give Joan Rivers some really fabulous material for Fashion Police/Academy Awards Edition.
